How We Got Started: I grew up with German Shepherd. They were smart, protective dogs that shed hair like crazy. When I developed allergies to the hair and found their size difficult to handle, I began researching breed types and visiting breeders to find a dog that was intelligent, did not shed, was great with children and a manageable size. I soon realized that the Standard Poodle was the only dog with such outstanding qualities.
We got our first pair in 1989 and have never left the breed. The wonderful pair we have now were chosen for the championships in their blood lines -noted for sound temperament, beauty and the Chocolate color. We are also breeding in hopes of developing a smaller standard poodle with all the grace and form of the larger poodles.
Our Mocha (our chocolate female) is 21 inches tall at the shoulder and fulfills all those criteria. Kit (our cream colored male) is 27 inches tall at the shoulder. The AKC classifies standard poodles at being over 15 inches at the highest point of the shoulders and describes them as: That of a very active, intelligent and elegant-appearing dog, squarely built, well proportioned, moving soundly and carrying himself proudly. ..the Poodle has about him an air of distinction and dignity peculiar to himself.
A Good Start: We do genetic testing on our dogs to ensures that we will not pass potential weaknesses within the line. This makes a superior adult dog that will be loyal, fun and intelligent. Our pure bred beauties come from AKC registered lines. We have learned that, to give puppies a good start, they need both physical breeding and emotional nurturing to be happy healthy members of the family.

Food/Exercise: All of our poodles are fed select foods to help them stay healthy and give them the best start in life possible. Daily exercise in the beautiful Lake Tahoe forest gives our puppies the agility and social skills needed for their new lives. Additionally, handling and social experiences begin almost immediately to give to start them out with good temperament.
